This section is intended to document those gigs played by Joe Bouchard with Jeff Pitchell and come in two configurations: "Jeff Pitchell and Texas Flood" and "Jeff Pitchell's Classic Original All Stars".
Named after a Stevie Ray Vaughan tune, Jeff Pitchell & the Texas Flood was formed in 1996 and released their debut album "Fat Cigars", on Premier Records in 1997. By 2002 when Pitchell signed to EMI, he'd dropped the "Texas Flood" part from his name but that now seems to have made a re-appearance. I've only seen one setlist for a Joe/Jeff Pitchell & the Texas Flood joint show, and they both play a number of each other's songs, interspersed with a sprinkling of covers.
"Jeff Pitchell's Classic Original All Stars" takes this concept a stage further with a number of guest musicians and seems to work along the same lines as Orleans & Friends/Rock & Pop Masters, in that it consists of a set number of musicians who perform a few of their hits, with much intermingling and jamming on each others songs etc...
The Joe Bouchard / Jeff Pitchell giglist is here, the known setlists here and reviews here. If you can add any information to any of these pages, please let me know.
Anyway, if you ever saw one of these gigs, please send me a .
Back in 2008, Jeff Pitchell and Joe Bouchard performed a number of acoustic songs on the Don Odells Blues Time cable show. The Dark Boat video clip above is from this production.
